Hot Shots: Allotment Deux! is an wonderful rarity---a sequel that's actually qualified to the first movie. (Not that Hot Shots! was bad; it was quite silly and exquisite in its believe moral.) Like the second Star Hump film, this sequel gels all of the obliging elements from its predecessor and discards whatever didn't quite click. In this case, the supporting cast made the movie even more than Charlie Sheen as its stunned hero Topper Harley. Returning are the gradual grand Lloyd Bridges, this time as the president, and Valeria Golino as the fair Ramada. Joining Topper are his primitive CO (Richard Crenna), a no-nonsense tough-guy soldier (Miguel Ferrer), a frigid blonde CIA operative (Brenda Bakke) and Ramada's hapless yet scornful spouse (the wretchedly hilarious Rowan Atkinson) .

Abandoned for no apparent reason by Ramada, Topper seeks inner peace at an Asian monastery, kicking the crap out of whoever steps into the fighting arena with him. His mature CO finds him and asks Harley to go on a mission to gather the men who went to score the men who were sent to obtain the men---you acquire the conception. In a filmed spoof of both other films (Rambo, Terminator II) and real-life events (President George the elder Bush's discouraged vomiting into the lap of a Japanese official), Hot Shots Deux is comical, unique and at times even more insane than a Leslie Neilsen movie, without the tendency to bog down that usually plagues this type of spy comedy.

Sheen, of course, deserves plenty of credit for the movie's success, for he breathes life into the potentially cardboard lead role. Crenna does an wonderful if off-the-wall reprise of his colonel character from Rambo. Bridges is sickeningly comic as the semi-lunatic president who's had more parts replaced than a '71 Volkswagen and may be a couple cards haunted of a pudgy deck. Pleasing Golino and aesthetic Bakke duke it out---literally, in an homage to American Gladiator. Ferrer, not known for comedic parts, is deadpan, Joe-Friday hilarious as the hard-bitten Harbinger, especially when he goes to pieces during a battle. Atkinson is acerbic and unfriendly as Ramada's self-absorbed and undeserving husband. Toss into this mix a unimaginative ringer for Saddam Hussein (with a screech!), and the result is one crazy mosey, almost as insane as the one Topper endures with the CIA blonde on a squeaky bed. Some of the humor is risque but nothing is flat-out offensive; it's not a movie for young children, but teens and adults alike should luxuriate in it very distinguished.

In summary, this is that rare sequel that stepped well beyond the confines of its previous version, and was great funnier. Highly recommended for an hour and twenty-eight minutes of viewing pleasure.
Just one word of advice: Don't peek this movie while recovering from hernia surgery. I literally laughed till it pain.

Don't blink. Don't leave the room to wait on to business with the television running. Hit the stay button. This is advice for those curious with the space of John le Carré's TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, Inspect. There is a heck of a lot going on here, a basketful of characters and three major subplots introduced in the first two episodes of this six-episode mini-series.

TINKER, TAILOR is a sinuous sage of a mole in high places in the British Secret Service, also known as the Circus to insiders. Called out of retirement, a rather premature retirement, we learn, George Smiley (Alec Guinness) is called on to recount the British official selling secrets to the Soviet enemies.

In the sharp 2002 30-minute interview on disk one writer le Carré tells us that after the initially reluctant Guinness signed on everyone wanted to work on the project, and this mini-series is studded with grand actors. Fortunately so, too, because this movie takes set around restaurant tables and in dingy `safe' houses more often than in bewitching, exotic locales. This one belongs to actors who can explain in tight close-ups distinguished more so than to special effects wizards who can blow things up prettily.

At the center of it is Guinness, who, in my plan, is simply incandescent. In the interview le Carré mentions that Guinness was always shaving lines off the script, reducing his role, so to voice. Wasn't noble at memorizing lines. There's more to it than that, though. Guinness come is minimalist to practical non-existence. I probably won't be able to instruct it, but somehow Guinness makes exiguous to no impression. There aren't the stream of dramatic utterances, or even the exiguous bits of business (fumbling with a tie, for instance) that most actors seem to cherish. Usually, the only time we inspect a precise reaction is when a character has his abet to Smiley/Guinness and mentions Smiley's wife Ann. Then the reaction, tiny enough, in context is much because it manages to wreck through the carefully crafted hide. Guinness realizes Smiley as a inspect, a man who's genius is to effect no impression, to cast no shadows and leave no clues. In lesser hands, which is exquisite noteworthy anyone else you could mention, this near would be unutterably bland, but Guinness's blandness is at times almost fine. The highest recommendation for this one.

The opening shot sets the tone of the entire six hours. We recognize a dingy meeting room in an old-fashioned London office building. The radiators are indiscretely visible, the paint is peeling off the walls, the lone cabinet looks creaky. Through the windows we inspect it's a chilly grey day. A man sits at the table smoking a cigarette; he is soon joined by a second who sits diagonally opposite him. A third man arrives with a tea cup, saucer over the cup to preserve the contents from splashing. A fourth man smoking a pipe arrives, sits at the head of the table sets down a folder and opens. The scene has lasted a petite, it was calm, no music was heard, though the first man coughed once or twice. The last man then says "We are ready to start" and extreme horns initiate sounding the theme music. This is director John Irvin's notion of a posthaste scene!

Later scenes travel noteworthy more methodically, and involve long conversations about the site, but that are framed beginning and demolish with chit-chat about the wife and the cottage. There is some action, but we almost feel it interferes with the dwelling and we want to salvage relieve to those conversations that beget the gold dust we need to sift out of the polite exchanges.

Alec Guinness is perfect as George Smiley. Tiresome and methodical and illustrating GS's quirks and mannerisms perfectly. Recognize how often he takes off his glasses and wipes them elegant. The rest of the cast performs admirably. On my first viewing, they had managed to veil some truly difficult dialogue (e.g. "Now, Young Mr. Guillam, are you contented in Brixton? " le Carre's weakness is realistic dialogue, for all his realism elsewhere) and turn them around into believable expressions of character.

Finally it seems the weather improved the production no slay. Many of the scenes were filmed outdoors during the third coldest recorded winter since WWII. The actors were frigid and were genuinely oppressed by particularly unfavorable English weather. This added to an already realistic production.

Universal has been releasing the Columbo - Mystery Movie Collection on DVD. This DVD boxed position continues where the last one left off with installments that were produced in the 1990s. When I initially posted this review, I made an error and listed the episodes expected in the NEXT DVD boxed plot, not this one. Thanks to Mike, Tom and Michael Todd for correcting this information.

For some viewers, these latter installments of the dirty-trench-coat-wearing, cigar-smoking sleuth are less satisfying and well-crafted than the fresh series, but for me, ANY Columbo is better than 99 percent of the original TV roster.

The six mysteries in this boxed situation were the last to be produced in the miniseries format, meaning the episodes each bustle about two hours, while the remaining Columbo mysteries produced were originally shown as one-shot 90-minute movie length specials and are yet to be released on DVD.

Collected here are:

Columbo Cries Wolf (which originally aired Jan. 20, 1990) : Two accurate iconic soap opera actors, Ian Buchanan and Deidra Hall, star in this episode as feuding business partners. Hall ends up lifeless and Columbo has to employ all of his skills to "advise" the crime.

Agenda for Kill (which aired Feb. 10, 1990) : Incredible actor Patrick McGoohan who has wowed fans since the 1960s Disaster Man, is also a conclude friend of Falk's. That's very lucky for Columbo fans, because he has graced the series with some of the most memorable episodes of the series. This time out, he directs AND stars as a remarkable attorney who has political aspirations - and a gargantuan secret. Soon, a longtime blackmailer is uninteresting and Columbo is matching wits with an attorney who has never lost - until now.

Rest in Peace, Mrs. Columbo (which aired March 31, 1990) : In an unique episode, Columbo is the target in this episode. A vengeful woman wants him to pay for the death of her husband, whom Columbo arrested for slay and whom has recently died in prison. Peer out for a classic Columbo twist at the destroy.

Uneasy Lies the Crown (which aired April 28, 1990) : Iconic TV writer-producer Steven Bochco (distinguished creator of Hill Street Blues) wrote this chronicle about a dentist who does away with a patient - who impartial happens to be his wife's lover - in a creative diagram. Inspect for the knowing actor Robert Culp (I Scrutinize), who himself has portrayed a execute in three prior Columbos.

Some of the mysteries yet to be released on DVD include: Caution: Destroy Can be Unsafe to Your Health (which originally aired 02/20/1991) ; The Destroy of a Rock Star (which originally aired 04/29/1991) ; It's All in the Game (which originally aired 10/31/1993) ; Butterfly in Shades of Grey (which originally aired 01/10/1994) ; and Undercover (which originally aired 05/02/1994) .

Let's hope that Universal continues to release these amazing episodes, because there ALWAYS will be one more inquire of!

It doesn't discontinuance there. Frieza somehow SURVIVED his battle with Goku, and has approach to Earth seeking revenge. But upon Frieza's arrival, a mysterious youth comes to their wait on. Will he be a match for the tyrant who has conquered numerous galaxies?

The DVD location is divided amongst six discs, and contains the Garlic Jr., Cyborg Frieza, Android Training, and Android Sagas. The narrate has been subjected to digital noise reduction, and the region includes a booklet of character profiles and episode listings.

Obviously, if you're unique to the Dragon Ball franchise, you'll want to initiate with the Season One box space, but if you're already a fan, you'll be pleased these episodes. I won't lie, this is one of the weaker box sets, it's basically everything that links the Frieza and Android/Cell Sagas. The Garlic Jr. Saga has some grand moments, but it's ultimately an anime-only filler that contributes nothing to the overall storyline. The Android Training episodes fare similarly (Chi-Chi wants Goku to salvage a drivers license despite the fact that she was seen driving in an early episode of the series? ) Even the Android Saga itself gets off to a rough, plain commence. But amongst the filler and obligatory slow-moving spot progression stuff, there is some vast moments, namely the battle with Cyborg Frieza, and the introductions of Androids 16, 17, and 18 - and the battles with them that follow. These aren't the best episodes of the series, but some of them ARE key moments in the series.

One of my personal well-liked features of the station is the Marathon feature. FUNimation includes a feature in these sets that allows you to idea all of the episodes on each disc from initiate to slay with no interruptions from intros/outros/recaps/etc. This is an extremely handy feature I wish more TV shows on DVD had.

Like earlier Dragon Ball Z season sets, the portray has been cropped at the top and bottom (this was done due to excessive grain and injure to the current source), and it has been subjected to the digital noise reduction process. Obviously a lot of fans, myself included, were disappointed to eye the describe score cropped. While the digital noise reduction doesn't do as thorough a job cleaning up the image as you'd hope, it IS the best these episodes have ever looked. In other words, it's a "give and pick" scenario. You lose some of the record you could view on earlier full-frame DVDs (and there ARE a few gaping moments that will really manufacture you examine FUNimation's decision), but on the well-behaved side, you acquire some represent on the sides, and the image quality is worthy to all earlier DVD releases.

Sound quality is similar to the earlier sets. English audio quality is extraordinary, but the dub is composed translated poorly and the shriek cast is hit and miss. On the other hand, the Japanese audio quality is terrible, showing its age, but it does feature a well-translated subtitle track from Steven J. Simmons that lets you experience the series as originally intended. Is Dragon Ball Z EVER going to fetch its Japanese audio remastered?

Additionally, like the earlier sets, you have the option of watching the English sigh cast played against the recent Japanese audio.

Disappointingly, the next episode previews aren't included. But they weren't in any earlier season state, so it's no gargantuan surprise.

No special features are included here unless you count the trailers and the same textless opening/closing sequence all other sets like this have had. On the genuine side, the status does include a booklet similar to the earlier sets, with character profiles and an episode guide, making it handy to go upright where you need to go on the DVDs.

It's another superior site. If you're a fan of the series and don't already have these episodes, you can glean them all here for one gross brand. Cropping issues aside, this is a mountainous site, and a proper value, especially compared to the older DVD releases.

Highly recommended to any fan of Dragon Ball Z.
This has not been released yet so my review will be based on previous viewings of the episodes.

This is when things originate to secure really powerfull! DBZ has been called "The greatest action cartoon ever made!" I agree 100%. That being said this was/is the greatest season ever made. It's starts most likely with the Blackwater mist saga an auspicious begining. The only thing the B-W-M saga does is waste/fill time. Then we have the Trunks saga. This saga really shows how the power level has risen. With the eminant return of Frieza, Goku unruffled missing, and a fresh frieghtfully powerfull young man, the drama is there. After everything settles down a bit The Z fighters derive out about a unusual threat even greater than Frieza. Enter the Android saga. An enemy from Goku's past comes serve to haunt him and his friends. A really dramatic action packed saga where Krilin falls for an ravishing but vollatile advesary.

I really hope the novel procure is available for this season. There were some unbelievable techno beats in this saga that I would esteem to hear in Dolby 5.1. I do collect the unusual collect is kinda fitting for the action in the first 3 seasons. So I won't be too disapointed if not.

If the first 3 realeses are any indication of quality inquire of a few chopped/cropped shots instead of staunch widescreen. I know they had some genuine hard repair work to do on the unusual film, but don't sell me a mule and call it horse.

All in all a fabulous pick for the DBZ fan or any fan of anime. Of course you should originate at season one, but if you want to jump in without seeing every episode from the begining this is the season to do it.

Season two of this fantastic series saw a shift in gears as far as the direction of the demonstrate. Season one, while a masterpiece, suffered distinguished hits for taking too long to design, and thus, perhaps lost some viewership. The not-so-well-kept secret is that time it took to craft the characters is exactly what lawful fans of the series enjoyed.

Some of the deep mystery and magic is gone from the second season, in favor of attractive the place along, but series creator Dan Knauf was so adept at his craft that he never allowed the series to become ho-hum and typical like other network series that delve into fantasy and science fiction.

What ultimately killed this series was two-fold. 1. It lost viewers who didn't want to be bothered with trying to figure the mystery out instead of having it handed to them on a platter and 2. executives who lost their vision as to what the present stood for and didn't behold the art for what it was.

This exhibit has created a cult following matched by few others in it's genre. Accurate fans who shout out for more while keeping the vision alive in our minds. Hopefully one day our wishes will be fulfilled, but until then we have memories and two excellant seasons to appreciate.
There has never been a point to that has had such an impact on me like HBO's "Carnivale." You can only imagine the heartbreak I went through when I found out that the point to would not be renewed for another season. In a world where there is so distinguished pointless garbage on TV with no substance, no emotion and no thinking leisurely it (again, this is not always a poor thing), it was refreshing to witness something that challenged us to the core like "Carnivale" did. At long last, the second season has found its home on DVD.

It's hard to portray such a point to without giving too grand away, but I will do my best. The first season left off with Ben Hawkins (an unlikely savior and healer) and Brother Justin (a man who once served religion has now found his set along darkness and an ultimate unfriendly) finally realizing their path in life and intellectual who they really are. Ben is frightened and instructed by the mysterious Management on what he has to do in order to prevent the raze of the world as we know it, but Ben is not so clear who is using him and who he can trust. Yet, he knows that the key to the final battle between first-rate and atrocious is his father, Henry Scudder. The jam is that Brother Justin is also looking for Scudder, as he has some poor, dreadful plans of his have for the world. These two are states away, but finally they will meet and the fate of the world ultimately depends on who ends up coming up on top. And that's only a fraction of the overwhelming and forceful myth that is known as "Carnivale."

The second season is noteworthy more darker and unsettling than the first, and it never slows down. As estimable as the first season was, the crawl was very slow--but it had to be in order to residence the pieces into location. A lot of things that didn't fabricate sense in the first season will arrive to light in this one. The scenery, the scrutinize and feel of it all really cements this as a memorable and solid series that was quite possibly ahead of its time. Not only does this explain rely on vast and hypnotic writing, but also the actors who give it their all and bring their characters to life. With a point to as complex as this, you have to have the writing and the characters, and this reveal has no predicament delivering the goods on that front. The DVD contains all 12 episodes and some very wintry "gradual the scenes" features that are worth seeing, along with commentaries on selected episodes.

"Carnivale" is not a present for everybody. It's extremely dim, brutal and the themes can win sparkling disturbing and unsettling, especially since it deals with the religous and spiritual world. If you are a fan of the first season, then this is a must-see, even if we may never accept another season ever again. Clear, not everything will be answered, the last episode does leave us hanging, but all in all this season is very satisfying and is even more absorbing and thrilling than the first. If you're looking for something you've never seen before, check it out. I'm honest ecstatic the second season has finally found a home. I impartial wished that such a titanic exhibit had more of a chance. Clint Eastwood stars as William Munny, a once famed and violent killer and thief. If Munny didn't like you, chances were that you wouldn't live long enough for him to exclaim you so. However, that was in the musty days. Now, he's honest a calm and tired farmer who is a devoted father unruffled in mourning of his tiresome wife. He's been straight for years and is trying to assign all of his demons to rest, but you unruffled bag the feeling that no matter how hard he tries, he will always be jumpy. An opportunity comes to him in the name of `The Schofield Kid.' He gives him a chance to be his partner and have him benefit on a bounty. Luminous that the money could succor his family out, Munny finally decides to seize the Kid up on the offer. He also brings with him Ned Logan; an primitive friend and partner. Itsy-bitsy Bill Daggett is the Sheriff in town, and the thing he hates most are assassins. He will do anything in his power to catch care of them and manufacture determined they do not succeed on their killing. The last remaining portion of the film stands out the most and is so well executed that it catches you off guard.

This really is a huge film and it surprised me like I would've never expected. I don't like Westerns all that considerable, but this isn't your typical Western. That is probably why I enjoyed it so noteworthy. There is so great anecdote and character development. You really are able to sympathize with Munny, despite his dim and violent past. You want him to be able to glean on with his life and forget the past, although you know deep down that things will never be build to rest, and agreeing to go on this bounty only increases the chance of Munny returning help to his veteran ways. This isn't a Western where the line between agreeable guys and terrible guys are obvious and the storyline is simple; well-behaved guy kills poor guys and gets the girl in the demolish. No, you won't accept any of this here. In this epic there are no determined great guys or unpleasant guys, unbiased regular people. This is a accurate epic with exact characters that you can feel for. There is a enormous drawl of morality that takes area, which is something you don't search for great in Westerns.

Not only does Eastwood do a terrific job in acting, he also does an astounding job as director. He's a man with vision, and who more safe to stammer a film of this magnitude. I don't believe the film would had been as successful had it been done by someone else. The cast is also outstanding. Morgan Freeman really does his role justice. Gene Hackman spreads fright inside of you as the mean and tough Sheriff. Richard Harris also deserves mention for his piece as well. (He is sorely missed. He was a very gifted actor.) Everyone really did stout in their roles and really knew how to bring the film together.

This modern DVD edition really does the movie justice. The premise:

Welcome to Stout Whiskey Wyoming, where in a minute "billiards" saloon, a cowboy gets furious at a whore and, with the wait on of his buddy, cuts her face up. Hawaii Five O Seasons 1-5 are simply obliging. There aren't too many people in my generation who were not glued to the family TV at 7:30pm on Tuesdays of regular season TV. It's hard to narrate what this display did in Hawaii; however at 7:30pm each Tuesday the city of Honolulu stopped and people were glued to their sets at home, shopping, or in a retail store with a TV. Also, the relationships in this family are very realistic--again without making anyone a harm or an impossible person. Whoever wrote this had a lot of concept of the relations between grown siblings and between grown children and their parents.

The film also explores some of the gigantic questions of life and how valuable "limited things" are in those vast questions. The mother's admitting that she gave an incomplete version of her recipe to a friend who had admired the dish, and that she had been bothered by that and wants to create it right--this was priceless. Also, her determination to return the library book!

The transitions of the characters are well-developed and believable. They manage to work things out without everyone suddenly becoming angelic creatures without a fault in the world.

If you like human dramas about steady but decent people, this is not a film to be missed. There are all too few like it.

This bewitching incorperates all the elements of a magical, resplendent Christmas! Tracey Neeham (Sarah) is a terrific actress and her character is someone I would like as a friend. At first I belief that Natasha Gregson Wagner was not a very marvelous actress because she was so "dreary pan." Then I realized that her character, Beth, is a self-centered, pasionless, joyless person until the "magic" begins. Ronny Cox, Buddy, is one of the best character actors of our time and, of course, Meredith Baxter never disappoints. An toothsome, heartwarming movie for Christmas or anytime!

As a musical theater purist, I was concerned that a movie musical with 3 of Hollywoods A list stars would be a hinderance rather than a attend in the "revival" of the genre. I must say that I was blown away by the sheer genius and excellence of the film.

Catherine Zeta-Jones' Velma was equal to, if not better than Bebe Neuwerth's ( Brodway revival) . Her fair articulate and masterful dance skill is pleasant of the enormous white method. A Tony may have been a more appropriate award as opposed to her powerful deserved Oscar. Although Rene Zellwegers whisper was a cramped shaky in the begining she brought out a tough side in Roxy that was not there in neither the fresh nor the revival stage versions. From the moment she enters and we peer a brief flash of her imagining herself on stage, we are aware that this film is half reality and half Roxie's dream. Ambitious Roxie has to glean a draw to catch herself out of prison and onto the stage. To do this she creates an innocent persona that is designed by her quiet talking lawyer Billy Flynn (Richard Gere) for the media to bring the public to her serve. With his wait on and the sassy matron of the women's prison 'Mama' Morton (Queen Larifah) Roxie eclipses Velma Kelly's prison girl fame. Her matronly values and repentant attitude have the public enthralled and the jury in tears. But with her newfound celebrity Roxie's head is sent spinning again with plans of musical fame. However, it becomes increasingly distinct that her popularity will be dreadfully short lived if she doesn`t craft a arrangement to remain in the spotlight. Teetering on the brink of superstar celebrity and death row, Roxie will have to give the performance of her life if she wants to place her neck. Filled with beautifully choreographed catchy musical numbers and a attractive sweep of posthaste dramatic action, there is never a monotonous moment in this film. I may be biased about this DVD, having seen the satisfactory PBS documentary "Crucible of Empire: The Spanish American War". This DVD, I notion, came up short in some ways, worthy of it having to do with the heavy exercise of actors and reenactors, the distracting attempts to recreate the leer and feel of dilapidated film stock and the near-jingoistic notion of the fighting. The film allowed actors to state the words of the principals -- TR, William McKinley, Philino rebel Edwardo Aguyinaldo and others -- and interact with one another in residence section fashion.

First Intervention covers the origins and subtleties of the conflist rather lightly, and spends (I believe ) an inordinate amount of time on the Battle of San Juan Hill, which made an enduring name for Teddy Roosevelt. The battle -- a one-day affair in a 3-1/2 month war -- was a one-sided affair with 10,000 Americans battling 750 Spaniards. But the DVD spends quite a bit of time on it, making distinguished of the courage of the Americans. The respectable news is that it seems to depict the battle accurately, with most of the Rough Riders advancing without their horses, in opposition to later illustrations. Another questinable aspect of the filk is its depictions of dim American soldiers. I have no squawk with depicting the involvement of these "Buffalo Soldiers," who were among the few battle-tested portions of the American invasion force. But the chuminess they have with whites seems problematic. I rather doubt that blacks and whites -- given the racist overtones of the day -- sang and drank and smoked around campfires as shown here. And some of the reenactors looked powerful former and heavy to be playing young recruits, as the occasionally snippets of real footage show.

After watching both films, I would recommend "Crucible of War" for a more moral and more fully rendered portrait of the war period. But "First intervention," for all its restagings is considerable in depicting the contested ground on which the battles were fought. And its exhaust of early war recreations (by Thomas Edison's company) was both instructive, laughable and an unintended ironic parallel to the newer film's fill troubles with reenacting warfare for a hometown audience. Assume "First Intervention" with a grain of salt, don't fill everything you spy, and glean a window into an under-told and often mispresented period of US history.

Though this is very informative and gripping, it is too long to employ in a school setting. I liked it personally, but it was long at times.

As others have pointed out, Greenberg, Carville and Schrum, a distinguished Washington political consulting (classy map of saying PR) firm was hired by Gonzalo Sanchez de Lozada--aka Goni--to derive him elected president of Bolivia. He'd been brought up in the United States--suburban Washington, DC, while his father was exiled. He'd been president of Bolivia for a term in the 1990s, had, according to the film, site up some social programs, e.g., Social Security, and had provided some reforms to education. But he had also "capitalized." That term wasn't really defined until toward the destroy of the film when I own the word old was "privatized."

Goni ignored those issues, while his consultants advised him to stick to his principals, what he believed was better for the company.

Well, to design a long epic short, after 14 months and lots of demonstrations, and deaths of demonstrators, Goni was forced to resign where he became a neighbor of mine here in the DC set. Probably the proverbial straw that broke the camel's succor was his sale of the country's natural gas reserves with no input from the people of his country. His VP tried to lift a more moderate arrive, but was also forced to resign when he couldn't regain a satisfied medium to meet the people's nees and those of foreign investors. So eventually one of Goni's opponents, whose name escapes me now, was elected as Bolivia's first indigenous president.

The film focused on Goni's not having a majority--he got about 22 percent of the vote while his opponents each got about 21 percent--as the source of the predicament. But I argue that the major pickle rather was that the election relied in image and superficial message--the standard tactics of public relations--rather than political issues, again, that which makes democracy what it is! And that I blame on GCS! (Indeed, I had more respect for James Carville before seeing the film than I did after.) Carville and his associates spent the last 10 minutes of the film trying to rationalize the grief that Bolivia became, and the reinforces my idea that the trouble was more their fault, based on the angles they took, than that of anything else.

And our "democracy" is obviously failing for the same reason: too many not voting on issues but on one liners, slogans, PR campaigns as distinguished negative as distinct. So while jobs are disappearing--as they had in Bolivia--people are talking about Rev. Wright, overjoyed marriage, and whatever devil terms can be created to distract us from what really happens.

Shame on those who've reduced campaigns to that level, whether hired by the GOP or Democrats. All your rationalizing isn't going to construct your actions any more ethical.

This documentary traces the re-election campaign of Gonzalo Sanchez de Lozada (Goni), which was largely hasten by paid, American political consultants. Their challenge: to procure their candidate re-elected even though as president his highly unpopular free-market policies had done nothing to alleviate the uncouth poverty and unemployment the country was facing, and even though he was perceived as an arrogant, elitist, fair-skinned, American-raised "gringo" who was out of touch with the bad, indigenous majority of Bolivia.

Despite all these obstacles, we eye how the consultants were able to exhaust polls, focus groups, negative attack campaigns and advertisements to successfully market their candidate (Noam Chomsky always talks about how political campaigns are like selling toothpaste; here we explore a perfect example) . They also benefited from a political system in which a candidate could gather with a plurality of the vote: the vote ended up being divided between three main candidates, allowing Goni to net with only 22% of the common vote.

However, as Goni continued to implement unpopular policies even after the election, the Bolivian people took to the streets en masse to request his ouster. Goni fled to the U.S., where he now resides, while his vice president took over until the next election in which the indigenous, left-wing candidate Evo Morales came to power with an overwhelming majority of the vote.

What I found most fabulous was how petite the paid, American political consultants knew about the policies that "their" candidate was implementing and how adversely they were affecting the people. Colorful that he was the "free-market" candidate (a supporter of the so-called "Washington consensus"), was enough to convince them to work for his re-election; and these are the people who relate the "left" in the U.S. (James Carville and the like) . It was also monstrous and disappointing to examine how easily people are manipulated (i.e., Goni is not faring well in the polls so the political consultants race some ads discrediting his opponent and re-inventing Goni's image; the next focus groups and polls prove that it has had the desired effect: people now like Goni better than his opponent) . People always say they know political ads are bogus, but yet they clearly work each and every time. One questions the viability of "proper democracy" when so many people are so easily manipulated.

Personally I would have liked to look more information about the mass protests that ousted Goni and brought about the rise to power of Evo Morales. But, I voice that would really be another documentary. Level-headed, this one is worth watching.

Repo Man is completely unclassifiable. Humorous, sad, biting, thrilling, confusing, action, adventure, it's all there. Emilio Estevez plays Otto, a "white suburban punk" living in LA's sprawl, with a nowhere job that he loses in the film's second scene. When his hippie parents admit they sent his college fund to a TV preacher (We're sending Bibles to El Salvador!), Otto meets Bud (Harry Dean Stanton), a cocaine-driven Repo Man who needs an extra driver. Otto joins the firm and soon learns the Repo Code; Bud's version (You eye, a Repo Man gets himself INTO tense situations), and the other regulars at Helping Hand Auto section their philosophies too. Light finds Bud's conception tiring, but is willing to handle shoot-outs when he's not reading parodies of Scientology (Diuretix), Miller seems completely neuron-fried (The more you drive, the less bright you are), and Oly is along to gain a four-pack. (Did you gape the four experienced Repo Men are named after beers? ) Let's go pick up a drink, kid!

Multiple status strands at first seem unrelated, but bind together closer and tighter as the film moves along. Otto and the other Repo Men are on the lookout for a 1964 Chevy Malibu, with a $25,000 bounty. So are some creepy FBI agents, who stalk and kidnap Otto. And so are Helping Hand's arch-rivals, who careen into the residence whenever things are getting tiring,. The car's driven by a nuclear physicist in from Los Alamos, who warned a CHP officer not to search for in the trunk (with deadly results) . Otto's punk friends secure the car while breaking into a pharmaceutical factory, but they're too dumb to maintain it. (These three are some of the dumbest criminals ever shown in film, including Kevin Kline's Otto in _A Fish Called Wanda_) Otto finds savor, after a fashion, but since this is Reaganesque LA, even his girlfriend has her gain motives. ("Otto! What about our relationship? " Otto's retort is a colorful reply to Cary Grant's last line in Gone with the Wind.)

The film abounds with hilarious throw-away lines, signs, and labels. Several scenes consume site in food stores, and all the food is generically labeled. Multiple viewings are required to find them all; be certain to read all the signs in the windows. Even the TV preacher shows up on several television sets. Repo Man takes its structure from Miller's bizarre rant about the cosmic latticework of interconnectedness, because everything is interconnected, and Miller turns out to be good about all of it by the destroy. To call this zeitgeist is misleading; these films don't deem the spirit of the times as mighty as they somehow tap into the opposite - they manage to develop an all-around sense of unease about the place of the world. In the 1960s, it was The Graduate and the bombshell ogle at the slay. For the 1990s, Fight Club identified many things horrible both with pop culture and those acting in rebellion against it. For the Reagan-saturated 1980s, the distinction falls squarely on Alex Cox's debut film Repo Man. In one of his first roles, Emilio Estevez plays Otto, a street punk who loses his job and college savings in the same day due to misunderstandings and television preachers. At the extinguish of his rope financially and mentally, he agrees to get a rapid 20 bucks by helping experienced repo man Bud (Harry Dean Stanton) . Realizing the potential to build a beneficial living, and an "intense" life in his unique job, Otto signs up with the crew and becomes a repo man. What makes Repo Man so fresh is the distinct satirization not only of regular, and in this case conservative Reagean-esque, culture, from the "John Wayne was [gay]" speech to Bud's trashing of Russia, but the send-ups of punk culture (Let's go do some crimes! Yeah, let's regain sushi and not pay!) Otto is the everyman in every sense of the word, as he - like us - realizes that no matter what culture he tries to be a section of, he never fits in, and those strains of culture are so rife with stupidity and hypocrisy that he no longer wants to belong. Like The Graduate and Fight Club, Repo Man also refuses to supply a stock acknowledge, instead making the audience quiz instead of spoonfeeding them. Plus, it's roll-on-the-floor comic, with some of the best oneliners since Bad Uninteresting 2 or Terminator 2. Alex Cox made Repo Man while aloof in film school, and he basically admits it's puny more than a trumped-up student film. The lack of budget is clear at times, but the killer screenplay and direction more than originate up for that limited fault. As usual, the movie looks wonderful on Anchor Bay's DVD; the sound and video are as certain as you can ask for, with a remixed 5.1 audio track to boot. There's a enormous commentary track with Alex Cox, some castmembers (sadly, no Harry Dean or Emilio), and some crew; it's a lot like a Kevin Smith commentary, with everyone sitting in one room, having a tremendous time talking about a large film. There are no other extras to yell of, unless you bewitch the collector's tin (which does not gaze like the normal Repo Man screen - it looks like a California license plate, with Repo Man on it) . The collector's tin has the soundtrack on CD and a booklet about the movie with a dinky humorous in it. Unless you are a major fan or must have the best of the best of the best edition, there's no need to assume the more expensive version, but if you want it, you'd better net it rapidly, because at 30,000 copies, it'll be gone before you know it.

I would definitely check this movie out if you can, and would recommend buying it to anyone who asked.

Red Mist, also known as Freakdog (which is a more advantageous and sensible title), is an tantalizing dinky indie awe flick. Arielle Kebbel (The Uninvited, John Tucker Must Die) stars as Catherine; a young doctor hopeful who, along with her group of fellow med students (including Sarah Carter) accidentally cause the creepy Kenneth (Andrew Lee Potts) to go into a coma. Catherine feels abominable naturally, so she administers an experimental drug to Kenneth with the hopes that he'll survive, only to salvage that it makes him have outer body experiences in which he can posess anyone and shatter brutal vengeance on his wrong-doers. Surprisingly well-filmed and well-acted, Red Mist is a violent and compelling slight thriller that you will be surprised with. What hurts the film however is that it isn't suspenseful or scary in the least, but then again, it doesn't tumble to any sort of typical slasher conventions either, which it easily could have. It occasionally plods along as well, but for the most piece, Red Mist is a worthwhile shocker that is definitely worth giving a chance. Plus, it has the comely Arielle Kebbel running around in her underwear, and that alone makes anything worth seeing.

A group of med students accidentally pick a joke a tiny too far,
which lands the mentally-challenged, all-too creepy, epileptic janitor at the college in a deep coma.
One of the students, feeling guilt for dumping him at the hospital,
injects him with an untested drug that revitalizes brain function, but causes out of body experiences.
But not impartial any OOBE,
this drug gives him the ability to beget others.
And of course he uses it to discover out revenge.
Hence the name Red Mist. (A feeling of rage that temporarily clouds one's judgement.)

There were plenty of deaths in this flick,
all of which, should have/could have been a lot gorier.
Don't obtain me nasty there WAS some blood.
but not nearly enough to match the viciousness of the deaths themselves.
The one death that should have delivered the most gore, (acid funnel) delivered the least which seemed kind of like a cheap cop-out.
Aside from gore the movie also never seemed to swear any suspense.
Ok ok maybe the one scene was suspenseful where the mother was standing at the head of the stairs holding the baby,
(subsequently this also happens to be the one scene in the whole film that delivers the red stuff)
but the rest of the movie was straight forward to the point of being predictable.
Anytime anyone was possessed their nose would bleed so there was no surprise.
If that slight carry out (nose bleed) were omitted the residence might have actually had the chance to pile on some tension.
Essentially; had the gore & suspense been indicate.. this flick would have been dynamite,
the acting was substantial,
the site was titillating enough,
the camera work was that of a huge budget flick.
It had all the makings of a titanic anxiety movie,
but honest fell flat in the one department that should have made it.
If you're going to title your film "Red Mist" at least have the decency to reveal me some splatter.
3 stars = Worth a rental but not a purchase

MORAL OF THE STORY:
If you're going to accidentally raze someone don't do a halfast job.

I can't really collect the words to relate this film, but I'll try. :) I like panic flicks as mighty as the next guy, but this film was a cleave above. To be impartial the only reason I saw it in the first station was because Dean Cameron was in it, and speaking of DC, his performance is improbable! The little smirk before saying "Later" fair blew me away. The itsy-bitsy details in swear variation and facial expressions..the man is the best. And let's not forget about Jennifer Rubin! Blood, Blood, and more blood, Peter Pans out the window, blood showers, and Ralph's self-stabbing fest makes this film one to glance on an empty stomach. Don't earn the same mistake I did by going to "The Bell" before watching this. Substantial film! Richard Lynch is scary, Jennifer Rubin is astonishing, and Dean Cameron shows us the meaning of the word 'range'. Stout!

I miss this movie. If there was a film that should be moved up on the list to be transferred to DVD this film would be it. It's not your typical apprehension film where there's nothing but mindless chop and dice late motives of stupidity. The main character deals with the psychological aspects of something immoral happening to her (which makes sense since it takes situation in a mental ward) . But when the bodies initiate to tumble, the "culprit" is not so definite. No Freddy Kruger or Michael Myers. This movie also pulls you in through the supporting cast, all racy and even silly. I admire this movie! I give it five stars as a contender against other panic films and it rates legal up there with the originals like NIGHTMARE AN ELM STREET and HALLOWEEN. There's death. There's drugs. There's comedy, and hey, even a dinky romance. Grab some popcorn and use two hours with Terrible DREAMS. You won't be disappointed!

While I don't bask in in Alarm pictures, something about the supernatural power of Worthy triumphing over Noxious fascinates me. I have never been into KING. I do however fancy this movie and would glance it for years to reach. It was scary, but not as gorry or as bloody as most. It was a astronomical mystery that had you going until the very ruin. The best scene was the brother's return. I Cried!!! Not of Awe but of simple Emotion. IT IS A MUST Examine even if you are not into the KING!!!!

This is a astronomical movie that is based on a rather odd short record by the master himself, Stephen King. The fresh short chronicle was very short and had a "peculiar" ending. This movie, i my idea is better than the fable by far. The current short narrative I assume is only 20 or 30 something pages and lacks alot of characterization. This movie fills in the giant hole that is in the short myth. And hold it or not, this made-for-tv movie has titanic acting. The boys who play the hoods are fine convincing--especially Richard Lawson. The epic is about a teacher named Jim Norman who moves to a novel town in whicch his brother was killed by a group of hoods in about thirty years earlier. He keeps having dreams about them that are haunting him. One day on of his students ends up missing and one of the tedious hoods from the 50's is seating in his seat--for every person they slay another one comes abet. Student after student keeps being killed and another after another hood returns to class for revenge. Th only design that they can be stopped is if they have a final confrontation with Jim succor in the tunnel that claimed the lives of his brother and the hoods. The results are awesome. On another tag the DVD isnt very estimable. The transfer doesnt seem to do the justice. The recount messes up every once and a while and sometimes i noticed that the words seem to not match their mouth! The sound is awesome though. Thank you for your time.

I have always been a large Crocodile Dundee fan. This DVD position was fair the label. They were all noble quality, and I was especially impressed with the case. Most DVD sets advance with each DVD being individually cased. This location came with fair one normal size case, but it was able to accommodate all three DVD and I was able to fit it in my DVD rack. A staunch room saver. The delivery time was beneficial as well.

I hadn't seen the third one. It was pleasing unpleasant as I guessed it would be. Fortunately the first 2 unexcited occupy up to the memories I had of them.

...a feel capable movie, with a bit of a cherish memoir to it. Last Holiday is a brilliant comedy that will leave you thinking about life. Latifah is radiant and also very comical. Two thumbs contrivance up!

Queen Latifah stars in this endearing movie that forces the audience to examine their occupy lives. Queen is told that she only has a few weeks to live, and she finds out that she has to learn a hard lesson about living life instead of waiting for the perfect time for things to happen. While this movie does force the viewer to consider about life, there are some very comic moments. LL Chilly J was surprisingly edifying in this film, and the rest of the supporting cast was fantastic.

Now, this is the backdrop for Lola and her boyfriend Manni. Manni is beginning a promising career as a drug dealer, making his first acquire. And Lola volunteers to assist, putting her life on the line, though she doesn't realize that she is in pain. She has twenty minutes to solve this life-and-death swear. And she DOES it, while filmed like a rock video in flashes, running like a madwoman through Berlin to come by to the prize.

If you don't like the outcome, the inevitable, the shadowy, fair wait a shrimp, the filmmaker, god that he is, can change all that for you. If you want a fairy godmother, he's prepared to be one for you. Honest cry like an infant, as Lola does, and director Tom Tykwer will grant your wish. If you then don't like that particular wave of his magic wand, well, wait another petite. But don't scrutinize too closely, or you will peek an accusation that actions DO have consequences.

Though filmed creatively and in burst-like flashes, the yarn is completely coherent and even has a fair, or two, or three.

As to the film itself, it is better letterboxed to bask in the cinematography. The subtitles are right, though the swears and other despicable epithets are made a bit milder than actually they are in vernacular German--perhaps because they observe exquisite stark when printed rather than spoken. This is a film that is worth seeing quite a few times to buy up the nuances and missed frames--you can't blink for a second because you will miss something valuable.

HIGHLY Recommended --entertaining, yet friendly for family discussions about choices in life.

Run Lola Bustle is the type of frenzied arthouse relate that fair doesn't find made here in North America. That's really a shame because Hurry Lola Urge is definitley one of the best movies of the year. From a cinematic point of thought "Lola" is one of the most creative and energetic films that I have ever seen.

The situation revolves around Lola, a woman who has twenty minutes to assign her boyfriend's life from German gangsters. To do this she must miraculously procure 100,000 Marks.

The film is appropriately titled as Lola really does urge for practically the entire film. When she does not succeed in saving her boyfriend the movie cuts serve to the opening sequence and the film plays out yet again in an entirely different fashion. The central concept is that little variations in behaviour can change the entire outcome of a region. This concept was also explored in "Sliding Doors", unfortunately, with far more mixed results.

Eventually the cycle repeats itself three times over the movies one hour twenty runt veil time. Hurry Lola Hasten is objective bubbling with creative ideas and really is a delicate trip. The action never really lets up (except in a brief bed scene) and is filmed in the kind of frenetic, crazy style that MTV would be proud of. Lola is also extremely comic in many parts especially when the film briefly delves into the future's of various slight characters.

This is a perfect itsy-bitsy film that stands up to repeated viewings. It is vivid, titillating and is something that is completely original. Hollywood movies rarely have those three qualities, this German one does.

"Net Me If You Can" is the narrative of real-life con artist Frank Abagnale, Jr. who, in the gradual 1960's and early 1970's, when he was between the ages of 16 and 21, wrote $2.5 million dollars in abominable checks and became one of the most well-known con men in American history. The film follows Frank (Leonardo DiCaprio) from his early high school pranks to his check-printing operation and eventual grasp in France five years later. FBI agent Carl Hanratty (Tom Hanks) doggedly pursues Frank as he successfully impersonates an air line pilot, a doctor, and a lawyer, living the life of a playboy and cashing ingeniously forged checks all along the plan.

"Gather Me If You Can" was directed by Stephen Spielberg and, along with Minority Relate, signifies a revival of Spielberg's directing talent after fifteen years of mediocre-at-best filmmaking. This film is fairly light fare, but it is immensely spirited, silly, touching, and impeccably cast. Frank Abagnale, Jr. is a perfect fit for Leonardo DiCaprio, and is probably his best role since "What's Eating Gilbert Grape". Tom Hanks seems to have abandoned his typically saccharine roles this year -much to his credit- and puts in a astounding performance as sympathetic geeky G-man Carl Hanratty (along with a terrific showing in "Road to Perdition") . Christopher Walken was the only actor to receive an Oscar nomination for "Procure Me If You Can". His performance as Frank Abagnale, Sr., our protagonist's down-and-out father, deserved the honor. Frank Jr.'s awkward combination of admiration and pity for his father seems to have been a key motivator in his noted life of crime, and Christopher Walken really helps us understand that.

The staunch Frank Abagnale, Jr. is a successful security consultant these days, protecting businesses from white collar crime. He cooperated with and bascially likes the film, but is snappily to point out that "Earn Me If You Can" is based on his biography of the same name that was written about 25 years ago. Mr. Abagnale says that some aspects of his experiences were exaggerated in that book and some have been altered for the movie as well. Whatever the inaccuracies, Frank Abagnale, Jr.'s enormous intelligence, ambition, and guts are the most striking elements of the film. It's the rarity of finding all of these qualities in such abundance in one person that form Frank's character so enchanting, and build him one of cinema's most lovable antiheroes.

I highly recommend "Score Me If You Can" for its tremendous performances and its extremely arresting memoir of an ingenious con man and his genuine pursuer...made all the more enchanting because the legend is largely right.

and the message is, "Sometimes, I'm gonna do a film where I impartial try to entertain you". And entertain it did!

Reviewers of the movie are at odds, either giving it high praise, when they perceive that it is fair there to entertain the filmgoer, or calling it terrible, when they question every Spielberg movie to be a momentous event of special effects and storytelling. "Come By Me If You Can" is based on the life of a con man, who pulled his crimes as a teenager, and then reformed for the rest of a long life. The anecdote engrosses the watcher, and Spielberg gives the film a light touch, a terrific cast, and fits it all into the eerily dependable culture of the 60's everyday life with costumes (wardrobe is outstanding), period sets, and a general feeling of wonder (Remember "The Wonder Years"? ) that was the moral 60's feel, devoid of momentous political events and the inevitable strife caused by war.

DiCaprio is featured as an unfamiliar duck, an obsessive compulsive trapped in escalating acts designed to develop his father feel that his life is successful. He shows some enormous naivete, especially in the scene criticized by many with Jennifer Garner, and displays the genial and engrossing manner that the exact Frank must have had to find away with what he did.

Hanks is another believable work obsessive compulsive who chases him down and forms the nucleus of the nonviolent criminal teams that solve financial crimes in this country every day. Bringing Frank to the FBI feels a slight astonishing, but it DID happen, and it was based on Hanratty's concept and faith in not only the genius, but also the need of Abagnale to outsmart the world. I'm distinct it was a huge
financial success for law enforcement in the true world.

Many seem surprised at the shapely flair that Christopher Walken displays as Frank's father, but Walken's career is stout of moments like these, where he has flashes of a lawful craftsman, then does an over the top performance in his next role...kind of a roller coaster toddle with this handsome performer, you never know what to question.

The audience clapped in the film I saw, enjoyed the music, had a mammoth time...now that's entertainment! Come By Me If You Can blends light comedy with a background edge of why things turn out the plan they do when families dissolve. It may be the most spirited movie (short of My Tremendous Rotund Greek Wedding) of 2002; and although it doesn't deserve to gather any awards....

Jane Russell--wow! Apparently the fresh negatives are not available, but if this is from a print, it's better than the last two or three I've purchased--and discarded. This is a keeper, until, and if, there's one from the unique negative.

Truly one of the greatest of all movie stars and a very underated actor this movie glows with Cagney's talent in his depiciton of the life of Lon Chayney. Unlike so many hollywood bios of the time this proceed tends to steer away from the usual sanitization of a character and instead confronts the darker side of Chaney, a man beset by torments. Poignant, noteworthy in it's day with the head on examine at how deaf people were treated, and indeed with the tragic aspects of Chayney's first marriage. For me this movie stands the test of time exceptionally well, thanks in no little measure to the performances, notably the conflict between Chaney and his first wife wonderfully played by Dorothy Malone. This is one of the gargantuan ones!

This is a astounding bio pic of silver conceal gigantic, Lon Chaney, a character actor of astronomical renown during the tranquil film epoch. All but one of his films were still. Lon Chaney (James Cagney) started his acting career as a stage performer in vaudeville, where he was a favorite pantomime. His first wife, the handsome Cleva Creighton (Dorothy Malone), was a chanteuse who had dreams of her believe.

Unfortunately, once Lon Chaney and she discovered that she was to have a baby, their happiness would turn to bitterness and nettle, due to Cleva's shock at discovering that his parents were deaf mutes. Cleva and Lon Chaney would go on to have a son named Creighton, but she later caused a expansive scandal early in their son's life with a very public attempt at suicide that would change all their lives forever.

This scandal was to slay Lon Chaney's stage career, and it sounded the death knell of his marriage. He ultimately divorced Cleva, who had abandoned both him and their son. The divorce resulted, for a time, in his tragic and heartbreaking separation from his beloved, young son. Chaney was to go on to reclaim his career, as well as his son, but would do so on film, rather than on stage, becoming an extremely accepted still film actor.

Lon Chaney was also a doting father who remarried in order to provide a obedient home for his son. His second wife was a dilapidated chorus girl named Hazel (Janet Greer) . She was a woman who was to show to be a loving step-mother to Creighton and a devoted wife to Lon Chaney. Always in the background, however, was the specter of Cleva, who was never to bag any of her worn glory as a chanteuse and would live a life reduced in circumstances, as a result. She would live to regret her abandonment of their son.

Meanwhile, Lon Chaney was getting ready to bewitch talking pictures by storm. While quiet in the prime of his life and at the peak of his film career, he was struck by a terminal illness that was to bring down the curtain for the last time. Bequeathing his acting legacy to his son, Creighton, who would later manufacture his notice in film, renamed as Lon Chaney, Jr., Lon Chaney would leave the world at the relatively young age of forty-seven.

James Cagney is terrific in the role of Lon Chaney, creating a three dimensional portrait of a man whose childhood was to influence him is so clear a scheme. A veritable chameleon that was able to change his appearance at will, Lon Chaney would infuse the characters that he played with remarkable feeling and emotion. His much performances would transcend the silence of the films, making him one of the huge character actors of the still film era. James Cagney sums it up best when he performs a bit of the Chaney role in the still film, "The Miracle". If Lon Chaney played it half so well, it is petite wonder that he was so favorite.

Dorothy Malone is favorable as the delicate but shallow Cleva, a woman who would inflict worthy suffering on those who loved her, but who would also, as a result, endure noteworthy suffering herself, eventually realizing all that she had lost. Janet Greer is perfect in the role of Hazel, Lon Chaney's warm and loving second wife, who would treasure and raise Creighton as if he were her hold son, thereby changing all their lives for the better.

The supporting cast is also righteous with grand performances by Jim Backus as Lon Chaney's agent and publicist. A very young Robert Evans, a right life future film mogul, plays the role of studio head Irving Thalberg, a man with whom Lon Chaney would have a long term professional relationship. Evans is surprisingly gripping in the itsy-bitsy role. Overall, this is simply a film that those with an interest in Lon Chaney will appreciate, as will those who simply fancy a favorable, well-acted film.

This series, which featured a lot of crawl songs, which also showed up in the Scooby-Doo TV series, are what made the series a lot more fun and exquisite and very silly to sight. The series, as reported by TV Shows on DVD, goes on sale in July, before the SanDiego Amusing Convention begins and if you're a parent who is careful what your children examine, this is wholesome cartoony entertainment that even parents can glean into. The series is place to be released on July 31st and if there's only one DVD boxed area on your list for this year and you are looking for something sizable to give your family, please earn this DVD region one of your favourites ... it certainly is one of mine and it also features enormous songs recorded by the fictional rock group "The Archies" who actually recorded several albums during the course of the challenging series (eight different Archies moving series which ran from 1968-1977) .
Into the SatAm world of caped crusaders in 1968 came the carrot- topped teen from Riverdale, star of radio and comics, the inimitable Archie. The first SatAm cartoon with a laugh track, from the begin Filmation's demonstrate was all about music. The Archie Point To opened with The Archies in a band. Each episode consisted of two ten microscopic cartoons, a dance and a song by the Archies. One of the songs, "Sugar Sugar", from a later incarnation of the expose (there were eight), hit no. 1 on the Billboard chart in 1969.

Anyone who understands how runt were the budgets for kids' TV cartoons, as compared to the lavish resources for theatrical animation, will luxuriate in watching shows from this era to leer what might be called the art of runt animation. This burgeoning sense of psychedelia in SatAm cartoons would arrive its height in Hanna- Barbera's 1969 Cattanooga Cats.

This position is excellently presented, with two single sided discs that witness like 45 RPM records. The Archie Prove ran 17 episodes, modern since a season generally has 13. Bonuses on the discs include character sheets and a Jukebox to play the song segments as videos. But what's worth the label of the dwelling is the interview with Filmation producer Lou Scheimer. This hopefully signals a trend for Filmation DVD releases, as interviews were also a high point bonus on their live-action Ghost Busters spot.

The packaging is an piquant mix of art from various styles in Archie comics and the racy Filmation characters, which were simplified for the prove. They smooth preserve the sense of the droll book however, and the writing also echoes the humorous. Jughead's dog, Hotdog "voices" his thoughts to the viewers, and Archie and pals talk to viewers between segments. You even earn a runt reprint of a record from the first "Everything's Archie" laughable from 1969 in which the gang meet Norm Prescott, Lou Scheimer and Hal Sutherland of Filmation. The serve pages cleverly include the DVD menu and a subscription blank to subscribe to Archie comics in what can only be called a total packaging deal of "Everything Archie". One episode of the prove also has the gang meeting Mayor Prescott, a caricature of Norm Prescott. All in all, this ground breaking series made with draw more heart than money gives yet more evidence why since 1941, readers, listeners, and viewers can't rep enough of Riverdale's most illustrious teen.

"The theory of everything" does not go into Any detail on Anything (other than Stephen Hawking himself) this is a destroy of time for any "enthusiast".

If you want to know about the theory of everything you'd better peep the NOVA - The Gorgeous Universe (2003), because from this DVD you'll know a lot about S. Hawking and his antique mumble reproductive software, but nothing recent about everything.
